Third-party testing standards (education)

What HPLC purity, mass spectrometry identity, and Certificates of Analysis mean in a research-supply context, and how Kinetic Aminos handles CoA requests.

RUO policy

Why researchers ask for batch documentation

A Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is a lot-specific analytical record. In research supply, it is the paperwork that connects a vial on the bench to reported identity and purity for that batch.

Useful CoAs usually name the compound, the batch or lot number, the testing laboratory or method context, and the results. Many research buyers also look for an HPLC chromatogram and mass spectrometry data rather than a bare percentage with no method detail.

This page is educational. Kinetic Aminos does not operate a public CoA browser or verification hub in the current storefront. Batch CoAs are available upon request.

HPLC purity, in plain terms

High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) separates components in a sample as they move through a column. Detectors (often UV for amino acid chains) record peaks. The main peak area is commonly reported as a percentage of total detected peak area.

That percentage is a chromatographic purity under the stated method. It answers a question like: of the peptide-related material detected under these conditions, how much appears as the main peak? It is not automatically the same as “percent of the powder’s total mass,” and it is not a sterility or endotoxin claim by itself.

Method details matter. Research CoA guides often note wavelength (for example around 214 nm for peptide-bond absorbance), column, and gradient. A purity number without method context is harder to interpret or compare.

Mass spectrometry and identity

Mass spectrometry (MS) answers a different question from HPLC. It helps confirm whether the observed molecular mass matches the mass expected from the stated sequence, within the lab’s tolerance.

HPLC purity without identity data can leave open whether the main peak is the intended molecule. Identity data without a purity method does not describe the impurity load. Credible research documentation often includes both.

When both results appear on a CoA, read them as complementary measurements, not interchangeable badges.

How to review a CoA request response

Match the lot or batch number on the report to the vial or order details. Confirm the compound name aligns with what you ordered. Note the laboratory or method statements and the reported purity and identity results.

Treat the document as batch evidence for research receiving, not as regulatory approval. A CoA does not grant a DIN, does not mean Health Canada authorized the material as a drug, and does not authorize human or veterinary use.

How Kinetic Aminos handles CoAs

Batch CoAs are available upon request. Email support with your order number and, when you have it, the lot information from the vial or packing slip. Staff fulfill documentation requests manually.

We do not host a public CoA verification portal in this MVP. We also do not treat analytical paperwork as permission for personal, clinical, or consumer use. If you need order help or documentation, use Contact. If you need dosing or administration advice, we will not provide it.
